Controllo compressione

Il rendimento del motore è
direttamente correlato con il valore di
pressione che si può misurare nelle
camere di combustione dei due
gruppi termici. Una pressione
eccessiva od insufficiente, così come
una eccessiva differenza tra i due
cilindri, produce sicuramente un calo
prestazionale del motore e può
essere causa di rotture. Per effettuare
questo controllo è necessario
disporre di uno strumento di misura
adatto, munito di adattatore per
l'installazione nella sede candela,
o del kit pressioni in dotazione al
MATHESIS.
Rimuovere le sovrastrutture.
Verificare che la batteria risulti carica
(almeno 12,5 V rilevati direttamente
sui terminali, senza carico).
Riscaldare il motore lasciandolo in
funzione per almeno una decina di
minuti.
Aprire completamente le farfalle.
Rimuovere la candela dal cilindro da
controllare avendo cura di scollegare
le bobine di accensione, in modo da
non fare lavorare le bobine senza
candele.
Mettere a massa il cavo della candela
per evitare la produzione di scintille.
Checking cylinder
compression
The performance and efficiency of an
engine are directly linked to the
compression inside the combustion
chambers of the two cylinders.
Compression which is too high/low or
a large compression difference
between the two cylinders will cause
a drop in engine performance and can
cause engine breakdowns. To check
the compression you will require a
suitable compression tester and an
adapter for fitting the tester to the
spark plug hole or the pressure kit
supplied with the MATHESIS tester.
Remove the outer structures.
Check that the battery is charged.
(Under no-load conditions, there must
be a charge of at least 12.5 V
measured at the terminals).
Start the engine and let it warm up for
at least 10 minutes.
Open the throttles fully.
Remove the spark plug from the
cylinder you are testing. Disconnect
the ignition coils, as they are not
supposed to operate without the
spark plugs.
To prevent sparks, earth the spark
plug cable.
