1. Magnetic switch

DISASSEMBLY

NOTE:

D Before disassembling starting motor, be sure to put match
marks at two locations (A and B) as shown in the left figure
so that any possible mistakes can be avoided.
D Do not clamp yoke in a vise or strike it with a hammer during

1) Remove nut securing the end of field coil lead to terminal on the
head of magnetic switch.
2) Take off magnetic switch from starting motor body by removing
2 mounting screws.

NOTE:
Don't disassemble this switch. If defective, replace as a
complete assembly.
3) Loosen 2 bolts and 2 screws to remove commutator end cover.
4) Separate drive housing and armature from yoke.
5) Draw brushes out of holder.
