TROUBLESHOOTING (DTC P0141)
STEP
1 Was "ENGINE DIAG. FLOW TABLE" performed?
2 HO2S-2 Heater Check:
1) Disconnect HO2S-2 coupler with ignition
switch OFF.
2) Check resistance between "3" and "4" terminal of
HO2S-2 connector.
Is it within 11.7 – 14.3 W (at 20_C, 68_F)?
3 HO2S-2 Power Supply Check:
1) Connect HO2S-2 connector.
2) Check voltage between E61-3 terminal of ECM
(PCM) connector and body ground with ignition
switch ON.
Is it 10 – 14 V?
4 HO2S-2 Heater Operation Check:
1) Drive vehicle about 30 – 40 mph (50 – 60 km/h)
for 2 min. or more.
2) Stop vehicle and check voltage between E61-3
terminal of ECM (PCM) connector and body
ground with engine idling.
Is it 0 – 1 V?
ACTION
ENGINE DIAGNOSIS (G16 / J20 ENGINES) 6-65
YES
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.
Intermittent trouble.
Check intermittent
referring to "Intermit-
tent and Poor Connec-
tion" in Section 0A.
NO
Go to "ENGINE
DIAG. FLOW
TABLE".
Replace HO2S-2.
"B/W" or "P/G" circuit
open/shorted to
ground.
If wire and connec-
tions are OK, substi-
tute a known-good
ECM (PCM) and
recheck.
Poor E61-3 connec-
tion.
If connection is OK,
substitute a known-
good ECM (PCM)
and recheck.
