Resetting the RMC to Factory Defaults
You can reset the RMC to factory settings, if desired. You would need to do
this if you forgot the escape sequence for the RMC. Follow the steps below.
1. Turn off the system.
2. Unplug the AC power cords.
NOTE: If you do not unplug the power cords, the reset will not take
effect when you power up the system.
3. Remove the system covers.
4. Locate the RMC switch pack on the server feature module and set
switch 4 to ON.
5. Replace the system covers and plug in the power cords.
6. Power up the system to the SRM console prompt. Powering up with
switch 4 set to ON resets the escape sequence, password, and modem
enable states to the factory defaults.
7. Power down the system, unplug the AC power cords, and remove the
system covers.
8. Set switch 4 to OFF.
9. Replace the system covers and plug in the power cords.
10. Power up the system to the SRM console prompt, and type the default
escape sequence to invoke RMC command mode:
