Troubleshooting Overview
To run a diagnostic test of the whole system, show its status, or
terminate the testing.
No startup display appears when you turn on the system.
The system cannot boot the operating system.
The system cannot access a mass storage device.
Storage devices are missing from the show device display.
The monitor or the terminal is not working.
The keyboard and mouse are not working.
The system repeatedly shuts down after 10 seconds.

This section refers you to relevant sections in this chapter for information on
how to perform certain tasks and resolve some problems that you may
encounter.
Before you begin troubleshooting your system, consult your service agreement
to determine how much troubleshooting and repair you should undertake
yourself.
If you plan to maintain the system yourself, use the information in this guide
to help identify and resolve the problem.
If you have a service agreement with a service provider, contact your
representative for assistance.
Table 9-1 lists possible problems and the relevant sections in this chapter.
