Exhaust Manifold

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Allow the engine to cool before attempting to remove the manifolds. Serious injury can result from contact
with hot exhaust manifolds.
2.3L and 2.5L Engines
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove the EGR transducer lines at the tube. Loosen and remove the EGR valve−to−exhaust
manifold tube.
4. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the two nuts securing the lifting bracket/transducer mount, and remove the bracket.
6. Remove the exhaust manifold mounting bolts/nuts and remove the manifold.
7. Install the exhaust manifold in the reverse order. Torque the manifold in sequence in two steps, first
5−7 ft. lbs. and then 16−23 ft. lbs.
