Tighten the 5.0L engine valve cover hold−down bolts in the sequence shown
4. Install all of the hold−down bolts and tighten to specifications in the sequence given.
5. Connect all wires and lines disconnected from the engine.
6. Install the coil packs and the spark plug wires to the coils.
7. Install the upper intake manifold.
8. Refill the cooling system.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature (upper radiator hose hot) and check for leaks.

2.3L, 2.5L and 4.0L SOHC (VIN E) Engines
A special tool is required to compress the valve spring.
1. Remove the valve cover and associated parts as required.
