The following restrictions regarding file names apply to data in the
Import folder. Data that exceed limitations are not displayed and cannot
be imported.
Up to 228 single/double-byte characters for PIM data, still pictures,
i-motion and melodies (excluding file extensions)
Up to 60 bytes for PDF data (excluding file extensions)
File names of up to eight lower case alphabets are displayed or
imported in upper case alphabets in the Import folder.
When backup data is put into the Import folder, only the first item is
shown.
When special symbols or katakana are included in a file name, the data
may not be copied from the Import folder to the FOMA terminal.
Sorting data in Import folder collectively
<Bulk sort microSD>
Collectively sort the data saved in the Import folder of the microSD Card into
each folder.
The following types of data can be sorted.
Melody
My Documents

In the Custom menu, select
[Bulk sort microSD]/[Yes].
If the sort destination folder becomes full while collectively sorting data,
new folders are automatically created and data is sorted. However, new
folders are not created for My Documents and e-book/e-dictionary/
e-comic.

saved in Data box and various viewers of LifeKit.

Managing folders
Creating user folders
■ <New folder>
Create up to 20 user folders in Data box for each data type.
Create up to 397 user folders in Manga&BookReader. In the [Comic]
folder, create up to 999 further folders.

In the folder list screen, press C/[Manage
folders]/[New folder].

Enter a folder name/t.
: When creating a user folder in the microSD Card, selecting the type
of the folder to create may be available.
: Enter up to 18 single-byte (9 double-byte) characters in Data box.
: Enter up to 20 single-byte (10 double-byte) characters in the
[Movable contents] folder.
: Enter up to 64 single/double-byte characters in the
Manga&BookReader. However, the folders in the [Comic] folder can
be of up to 20 single-byte (10 double-byte) characters.
Editing folder names
■ <Edit folder name>
Change the name of user folders and folders in the [Movable contents]
folder.

Select a folder/C/[Manage folders]/[Edit folder
name].

Setting security for user folders
■
Set the security for user folders in the FOMA terminal.
For 1Seg and Manga&BookReader, set the security for other than user
folders.
Enter the terminal security code to display data in the folder.
For My picture and i-motion/Movie, when the folder security is set to [ON
(Secret)], the folder is not displayed. Set Secret mode to [ON] to display
(nP. 125).
When using Quick search with the internal dictionary, the folder security
cannot be set for e-dictionaries registered as the internal dictionary
(nP. 388).
