In the Custom menu, select
[Camera]/[Character reader].

Display the text to be scanned in the center of the
frame 〔 〕 on the screen/t.
: Text near the sides of the frame 〔 〕 may be difficult to scan.
: Adjust the distance so that the bar on the bottom of the screen turns
a deep blue.
: Scan up to approximately 60 characters at one time.
: When multiple lines were scanned: Specify the lines to scan with u.
• Text is scanned one line at a time.

Press t.
: To edit the scanned result: Press t.
: To change the data type of scanned result: Press v.
• When the scanned result is phone number, the data type cannot be
changed.
: To scan again: Press a/[Yes].

Press i/use scanned results.
: To connect to the site with a URL (Category: URL): Select [Connect
i-mode]/[Connect FB].
: To compose a message with a mail address (Category: Mail): Select
[Yes]/compose and send a message.
: To use a phone number (Category: Tel).
• To make a voice call: Press s/t/[Yes].
• To make a Videophone call: Press i/[Yes].
• To compose an SMS: Press a/[Yes]/compose and send an
SMS.
• To add Chaku-moji: Press m/select the message.
: To search for scanned text in dictionary (Category: Word): Select
[Yes]/select a dictionary/t/search in dictionary.
When scanned data is a phone number, parentheses (()) become a
hyphen (-). Hyphen (-) is erased for adding to the phonebook or making
a call.
When the category of scanned data is URL, http:// is added to the
scanned results even if it is missing.

Connect to previously scanned data to make complete text. Scan up
to 256 characters.

Scan text in up to three sessions and link scanned text into one

[Add bookmark]/add to a bookmark
[Search dictionary]/[Yes]/select a dictionary/t/search in
dictionary
