download firmware slot <slot_number>
Description
Downloads firmware to the micro controller if the firmware needs to be upgraded.
Syntax Description
slot_number
Default
None.
Usage Guidelines
This command downloads firmware to the micro controller if needed. A version of PoE firmware is
built into ExtremeWare just in case there is some corruption in the current firmware. A clean copy can
be retrieved. ExtremeWare will log a message in syslog prompting for a firmware upgrade. This
command is used to download the firmware. This command is available only if the board is present in
the slot. This same command will be used for any other products that have firmware built into
ExtremeWare.
Example
The following command downloads firmware to the micro controller for the board in slot 2:
download firmware slot 2
History
This command was first available in ExtremeWare 7.2.
Platform Availability
This command is available on Alpine series I/O modules only.
