vplstrace
VPLS echo reply is routed back to the sender over an MPLS LSP. If no LSP is available, the VPLS echo
reply is not sent. When the
option is specified, the VPLS echo reply is switched in-band back to
vpls
the sender via a VPLS encapsulated IPv4 packet. This option is useful for determining if there is a
failure along the return VPLS VC-LSP path. If the reply-mode is not specified, the vpls reply mode is
used.
The
keyword optionally specifies the maximum TTL value in the VPLS echo request packet. The
ttl
TTL value in the VC-FEC label is decremented along the path at each VPLS node. When the TTL value
in the VC-FEC label reaches zero, the packet not forwarded but is redirected to the control plane for
additional processing. When the TTL value specified by the max_ttl_value parameter is exceeded, the
vplstrace command ends. The valid max_ttl_value range is one to 30 with a default value of 4.
