Federal Communications Commission. An independent agency of the United States
government, created by Congressional statute to regulate interstate
communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states, the
District of Columbia and U.S. territories. The FCC works towards six goals in the areas
of broadband, competition, the spectrum, the media, public safety and homeland
security.

File Transfer Protocol. A standard network protocol used to transfer computer files
between a client and server on a computer network.

Global Positioning System. A system of satellites, computers, and receivers that is
able to determine the latitude and longitude of a receiver on Earth by calculating the
time difference for signals from different satellites to reach the receiver.

HyperText Transfer Protocol. HTTP is the underlying protocol used by the World
Wide Web and this protocol defines how messages are formatted and transmitted,
and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various
commands.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is an extension of the Hypertext Transfer
Protocol (HTTP). It is used for secure communication over a computer network, and
is widely used on the Internet.
