Maintaining Detectors in Stack Configuration
5. Remove the detector adapter unscrewing the
two retaining Allen screws. Use a 2.5 mm Allen
wrench.
6. Unscrew the collecting electrode and remove it
using tweezers.
7. If you are going to replace the collecting
electrode with a new one, go to step 8. If you
are going to clean it, put it into an ultrasonic
bath filled with a toluene/hexane mixture and
sonicate it. In the most critical cases, fine emery
paper can be used.
8. Mount the new (or cleaned) electrode without
touching it. Use tweezers.
9. Remount the detector adapter and tighten the
Allen screws.
