SECTION 10: STARTUP, STATUS, FAULT MESSAGES

The Edge Controller displays status messages at various times showing the current state of the
Controller. All status messages are displayed near the top of the touchscreen in WHITE text,
just under the current screen's title.

10.1 FAULT MESSAGES

The Edge Controller displays the following status messages when appropriate. The # column
lists the corresponding code returned to Building Automation Systems.
Four types of messages can appear on the Edge Controller's display screen:
Message: Information about a current event or condition: no intervention required.
Warning: An abnormal event or condition occurred, but the unit continues to operate
normally: no intervention required.
Fault: An abnormal event or condition occurred that caused the unit to shut down. The
unit will restart automatically once the cause of the fault is resolved.
Fault, Manual Reset: An abnormal event or condition occurred that caused the unit to
shut down. A corrective action may be required. Once the cause of the fault is resolved,
the Controller's CLEAR button must be pressed manually to restart the unit.

DESCRIPTION
Indicates the Enable/Disable switch is set to
Disabled. The display also shows the time (AM
or PM) and date that the unit was disabled.
Displayed when ON/OFF switch is in the ON
position, but there is no demand for heat. The
time and date are also displayed.
Demand Delay is active.
The duration of the purge cycle during startup, in
seconds.
Displayed during ignition trial startup sequence.
The duration of cycle counts up in seconds.
Displayed after flame has been detected for a
period of 2 seconds. Initially, the flame strength
is shown in %. After 5 seconds has elapsed, the
time and date are shown in place of flame
strength.
Displayed for 2 minutes during the initial warm-
up only.
The High-Water Temperature Limit switch is
open.
The Low Water Cutoff board is indicating low
water level.
The Low Gas Pressure Limit switch is open
The Gas Pressure Limit switch is not connected
or malfunctioned
