VALVES AND VALVE SPRINGS

Using special tool
(09222-21001),
remove retainer lock.
Then remove spring retainer, valve spring, spring seat and
valve.
NOTE
Keep these removed parts in order so that they can be
reinstalled in their original position.

Remove valve stem seals with pliers and discard.
CAUTION
Do not reuse valve stem seals.

Check the valve stem-to-guide clearance. If the clearance
exceeds the service limit, replace the valve guide with newover-
size part.
