ROCKER ARMS AND ROCKER ARM SHAFTS
NOTE
If a leak-down tester is not available, check the auto-lash
adjuster as follows.
1 . Check whether or not there is any abnormal noise with
the engine idling (at normal operating temperature).
2.
If there is abnormal noise, there may be a malfunction of
the auto-lash adjuster's air bleeding. Bleed the air from the
auto-lash adjuster, and then again check for abnormal
noise while the engine is idling.
3.
If there is still abnormal noise, replace the auto-lash
adjuster.
