CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Shifting from 1st to O/D is performed in combination with ON and OFF of the shift solenoid valves SL1 and
SL2 controlled by ECM. If an open or short circuit occurs in either of the shift solenoid valves, the ECM con-
trols the remaining normal shift solenoid valve to allow the vehicle to be operated smoothly (Fail safe func-
tion).
DTC No.
The ECM checks for an open or short circuit in the shift sole-
noid valves SL1 and SL2.
P0748
(a) When the solenoid is energized, the duty ratio exceed 75
P0778
%.
(b) When the solenoid is not energized, the duty ratio is less
than 3 %.
ECM detects short in solenoid valve No. 2 circuit 2 times when
P0982
solenoid valve No. 2 is operated (2−trip detection logic).
ECM detects open in solenoid valve No. 2 circuit 2 times when
P0983
solenoid valve No. 2 is not operated (2−trip detection logic).
HINT:
Check the shift solenoid valve SL1 when DTC P0748 is output, check the shift solenoid valve SL2 when DTC
P0778 is output and check the shift solenoid valve S4 when DTCs P0982 and P0983 are output.
