Jack up the vehicle.
Remove the oil pan.
Remove the shift solenoid valve SL1, SL2 or S4.
Shift solenoid valve SL1 or SL2:
Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of sole-
noid connector.
Shift solenoid valve S4:
Measure resistance between terminal 1 of solenoid con-
nector and solenoid body.
Shift solenoid valve SL1 or SL2:
Connect the positive (+) lead with an 23W bulb to terminal
1 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 2 of solenoid con-
nector, then check the movement of the valve.
Shift solenoid valve S4:
Connect the positive (+) lead with an 23W bulb to terminal
1 of solenoid connector and the negative (−) lead to the
solenoid valve body, then check the movement of the
valve.
Resistance: 5.1 − 5.5 Ω
The shift solenoid valve makes operation noise.
Replace the shift solenoid valve SL1, SL2 or S4.
