DIAGNOSTICS
PREPARATION:
(a) Disconnect the engine coolant temp. sensor connector.
ECM
(b) Connect the sensor wire harness terminals together.
(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(d) When using hand−held tester, enter the following menus:
DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / ALL
E2
DADA / COOLANT TEMP.
CHECK:
Read the temperature value on the OBD II scan tool or hand−

held tester.
OK:
Temperature value: 140°C (284°F) or more
OK
− ENGINE (2ZZ−GE)
Confirm good connection at sensor. If OK, re-
place engine coolant temperature sensor.
