TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS
Detection criteria
Either of the following conditions is met: OFF malfunction or ON malfunction
OFF malfunction
Engine speed − Input (turbine) speed
ON malfunction
Difference between engine speed and input (turbine) speed
2 detections are necessary per driving cycle:
1st detection; temporary flag ON
2nd detection; pending fault code ON
Vehicle speed must be under 10 km/h (6.2 mph) once before 2nd detection
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Check solenoid valve DSL operation.

PREPARATION:
(a) Remove the oil pan.
(b) Remove the shift solenoid valve DSL.
CHECK:
(a) Applying 490 kPa (5 kgf/cm
check that the solenoid valve does leak air.
(b) When battery voltage is supplied to the shift solenoid
valve, check that the solenoid valve closes.
OK:
(a) Solenoid valve does leak air.
(b) Solenoid valve closes.
