Standard IEC 61800-5-2:2007 is applicable for variable-speed electric drives with integrated
safety functions. IEC 61800-5-2 defines requirements and gives recommendations for
designing and developing, integrating and validating safety-related applications regarding
their functional safety. IEC 61800-5-2 is applicable for adjustable speed electric power drive
systems, which are handled in other parts of IEC 61800 standards.
