7.4.1 Configure PIM-SM task list

♦ Configure static RP
♦ Config candidate BSR
♦ Configure candidate RP
♦ Display mrouting entry of PIM-SM
♦ Clearmrouting entry of PIM-SM
7.4.2 Enable PIM-SM
Running PIM-SM on the port in order to activate sparse mode multicast-group function, process as the
following step:
Command
[no]ip pim-sm
In parameter clew choose the 16th option, clew:
(00)access-group Specify access control for packets
(16) pim-sm Enable PIM protocol spares mode

Please Input the code of command to be excute(0-22): 16
Input 16,choose pim-dm option.
7.4.3 Configure the static RP
In small networks, we can configure static RP instead of BSR mechanism. And to make all the routers
in the area have the same RP information, we must configure the same static RP on all the routers. If
you want the static RP address mappings take the precedence over the ones learned dynamically
through BSR, use the "override" keyword, otherwise, the information learned dynamically take the
precedence.
To enable this function, use this command under the global configuration mode.
To disable it, use the no form.
