Replacing the encoder - different encoder type

Precondition
You have backed up the actual inverter settings to your PC using STARTER.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to replace an encoder by another encoder type:
1. Switch off the inverter power supply, including the external 24 V supply for the Control
Unit and the digital outputs.
2. Remove the encoder to be replaced.
3. Switch on the power supplies.
4. Change the encoder data in STARTER (see below).
5. Acknowledge the changes by pressing OK and save the data to your computer (
6. Go online (
7. Select the inverter in the navigation bar (
from the PG to the inverter (
8. In the following screen form, set the check mark to "Copy RAM -> ROM after loading".
9. Go offline (
10.Connect the new encoder.
Connect the encoder cable shield as specified.
11.Switch on the power supplies.
12.Check that the drive functions correctly.
You have replaced the encoder with another encoder type.
