clear counters

This command clears statistics on an interface.
Syntax
clear counters interface interface
• ethernet unit/port
-unit - Stack unit. (Range: 1)
-port - Port number. (Range: 1-28)
• port-channel channel-id (Range: 1-12)

None

Command Usage
Statistics are only initialized for a power reset. This command sets the base value for displayed statistics to zero for the
current management session. However, if you log out and back into the management interface, the statistics displayed will
show the absolute value accumulated since the last power reset.

This command displays the status for an interface.
Syntax
show interfaces status [interface] interface
ethernet unit/port
-unit - Stack unit. (Range: 1)
-port - Port number. (Range: 1-28)
port-channel channel-id (Range: 1-12)
• vlan vlan-id (Range: 1-4094)
Default Setting
Shows the status for all interfaces.
Command Mode
Normal Exec, Privileged Exec
clears statistics on port 5.
