Maintaining the TX Matrix Host Subsystem

To display the status of the fans in the routing matrix (TX Matrix router and all T640
routers), issue the
show chassis environment
in a specific T640 router, issue the

NOTE: The speed of the fans in the rear fan tray of a T640 router is affected
by the temperature of the T640-SIB main board (displayed as

For optimum TX Matrix performance, verify the condition of the host subsystem. The
host subsystem comprises up to two Routing Engines and adjacent TX-CBs functioning
together.
On a regular basis:
Check the host subsystem LEDs (

LED is lit, look at the LED display to get more information about the

cause of the problem.
Check the LED display on the craft interface to view information about the TX Matrix
router temperature and the status of the Routing Engines.
Check the LEDs on the TX-CB faceplate to see information about the TX-CB.
Check the status of the Routing Engines. Issue the
command. The output is similar to the following:
