Transferring Control from the T640 Router to the TX Matrix Router

Chapter 20: Integrating an Operational T640 Router with the TX Matrix Router
T640 router. For example, if you are disabling the adapters on
, issue the following commands on the TX Matrix router and T640 router:
T640-SIB-0
user@host> request chassis sib slot 0 stop-receiver 0 scc
user@host> request chassis sib slot 0 stop-receiver 0
To disconnect the cable connector, partially loosen its thumbscrew and captive
screw. (Use the supplied small slotted screwdriver to loosen the captive screw.)
Alternate between the thumbscrew and the hex screw until the cable connector is
removed from the adapter.
For instructions about cleaning the fiber-optic array cable connector and T640-SIB
adapter, see "Cleaning the TX Matrix and T640 Fiber-Optic Components Overview"
on page 200.
Reconnect the fiber-optic array cable connector and T640-SIB adapter as described

in Step 3 through Step 4.
Enable the TX-SIB and T640-SIB adapter receivers.

The slot number can be from 0 through 4 and corresponds to the TX-SIB chassis slot.
The interface number can be 0 through 3 and corresponds to the TX-SIB adapters

LEDs next to the TX-SIB adapter and T640-SIB adapter are steadily

lit green, indicating that the connection between the TX-SIB and T640-SIB is operating
correctly.
If the
RX
LEDs next to the TX-SIB adapter and T640-SIB adapter are not steadily lit
green, contact your customer support representative for additional instructions. Do
not proceed with the installation of the TX Matrix router until you have spoken to your
customer support representative.
Repeat the procedures described in "Converting a Switching Plane in a T640 Router"

NOTE: After you transfer control to the TX Matrix router, you can roll back
the T640 router to its original configuration, but traffic through the T640
router will be interrupted (see"Rolling Back the Integration of a T640 Router"
on page 219 for more information).
To transfer control from the T640 router to the TX Matrix router:
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
