Before you integrate a T640 router with the TX Matrix router, you must convert the T640
router by replacing certain hardware and software components.
If your T640 router is not shipped from Juniper Networks with the hardware and software
components required to connect it to a TX Matrix router, you must convert the router by
performing the following tasks:
Upgrade the software to Junos OS release 7.0 or later.

Upgrade the firmware on the FPCs.

Replace the standard rear fan tray with a different model required to cool the chassis.
