Mounting the TX Matrix Chasis Using a Lift

88
To install the TX Matrix chassis using a lift (see Figure 45 on page 89):
If you are installing the TX Matrix chassis in an open-frame rack, ensure that the rack
1.
is in its permanent location and is secured to the building. Ensure that the installation
site allows adequate clearance for both airflow and maintenance. For details, see "TX
Matrix Clearance Requirements for Airflow and Hardware Maintenance" on page 63.
Load the TX Matrix chassis onto the lift, making sure it rests securely on the lift router.
2.
CAUTION: Do not lift the TX Matrix chassis using the installation handle
or the handles on the sides of the chassis. Use these handles only to help
position the TX Matrix chassis.
Using the lift, position the TX Matrix chassis in front of the rack or cabinet, centering
3.
it in front of the mounting shelves.
Lift the chassis approximately 0.75 in. above the surface of the mounting shelves, and
4.
position it as close as possible to the shelves.
Carefully slide the TX Matrix chassis onto the mounting shelves so that the bottom
5.
of the chassis and the mounting shelves overlap by approximately 2 inches.
With one person pulling on the installation handle from the rear of the rack or cabinet
6.
while two people push on the front-mounting flanges, slide the TX Matrix chassis onto
the mounting shelves until the mounting brackets or front-mounting flanges contact
the rack rails or spacer bars (depending on your type of installation). The shelves
ensure that the holes in the mounting brackets and the front-mounting flanges of the
chassis align with the holes in the rack rails.
Move the lift away from the rack.
7.
If you are installing the TX Matrix router in a four-post rack or cabinet, install a mounting
8.
screw and a cage nut into each of the holes aligned with the threaded holes in the
spacer bars. If you are installing the TX Matrix chassis in an open-frame rack, install
a mounting screw into each of the open mounting holes aligned with the rack, starting
from the bottom.
Visually inspect the alignment of the TX Matrix chassis. If the TX Matrix chassis is
9.
installed properly in the rack, all the mounting screws on one side of the rack should
be aligned with the mounting screws on the opposite side and the TX Matrix chassis
should be level.
