Voice-processing subsystem configuration
During script execution, the Give RAN command suspends the script until the
command is completed. After the command is complete, the next statement in
the script runs.
Typical uses of voice-processing commands
The following section describes typical uses of voice-processing commands.
Give RAN
Use Give RAN
when messages must be spoken to callers
when legacy RAN equipment exists
if RAN equipment is less expensive than a voice-processing system and
other voice-processing functionality is not required
Give IVR
Use Give IVR when
you use MPS to play announcements or give voice menus to callers
you use MPS and you want to give the caller the option to leave a message
in a mailbox

Operation modes for voice-processing commands
You can use MPS with the Give IVR command to listen to recorded messages or
interact.
To use the Give IVR voice-processing command, Contact Center Manager
Server must acquire an IVR ACD-DN and a voice port position ID.
The MPS must have dedicated voice processing ports assigned to CCMS.
