II. Precautions on Handling
1. Precautions against static electricity
• • • • Keep the network board in an antistatic bag
while transporting or storing.
• Discharge electricity from your body by toucing
somewhere metallic portion before handling,
when working on the place where static electric
ity tend to generate such as on a carpet.
2. Do not touch the terminal of network board
directly with hands.Direct touch may cause mal-
continuity.
3. Do not give the machanical shock to the network
board by dropping or bending and so on.
III. Caution
The CD-ROM with the software utilities for the KN-
306 network board and the PDF Instruction Manual
can be found in the printer controller package.
IV. Preinstallation procedures
Before initiating any operation, turn off the power to
the printer controller and to the main body, then
unplug the power cord.

V. Installation procedure
1. Remove the two screws on the rear of the printer
controller and detach the rear cover.
2. Remove the slot cover shown in the figure below
by pushing it outward from within the main body.
Do not at this time replace the screw that had pre-
viously secured the cover in place.
