DIMM Population Rules

Up to 32 DDR3 DIMMs can be installed in the server, with up to eight DIMMs
installed in each memor riser.
When installing, upgrading, or replacing DIMMs, note the following:
Only DIMM capacities of 4 Gbyte and 8 Gbyte are supported.
All DIMMs installed in the server must have identical capacities (all 4 Gbyte or all
8 Gbyte).
All DIMMs associated with each CMP must be identical (identical capacity and
identical rank classification). For example, install identical DIMMs in all slots of
CMP0/MR0 and CMP0/MR1, and identical DIMMs in all slots of CMP1/MR0 and
CMP1/MR1.
To identify DIMM rank classification, see
page
The DIMM slots may be populated as 1/2 full or full.
