Electrical Problems

PROBLEM
No indication on the display panel
when power is turned on.
Some keys are inoperative.
Printer does not respond correctly to
key commands.
Incorrect or no printout.

Electrical Problems
POSSIBLE CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION
Make sure that the power cord is
securely plugged into the printer and
wall outlet.
Check for power at the wall outlet using
a known good appliance.
Check the thumbscrews on the ribbon
deck.
Check the printer for a blown fuse. See
page 1 for illustration and location of
fuse holder.
Normal if printer is online.
Offline: Printer may be locked up. Try to
print a status sheet as future reference
for printer settings.
Recycle the power to the printer and
initialize the printer.
See "Reset to Dflts" on page 140 for re-
initializing procedures.
Invalid configuration may be causing
printer to lock up. Turn power off for 15
seconds, and then back on. If problem
persists, initialize the printer.

Check interface cable connections.
Serial Interface baud rate may not be
compatible with host.
Serial Interface parity selected may not
be compatible with host.
Interface settings may not be compatible
with host. Recheck settings and
compare to host protocol settings.
