Electrical Problems

PROBLEM
No indication on the display panel
when power is turned on.
Some keys are inoperative.
Printer does not respond correctly to
key commands.
Incorrect or no printout.

Use Table 7-4 when problems are experienced with the display, keys,
or data printouts.

Electrical Problems
POSSIBLE CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION
Make sure that the power cord is
securely plugged into the printer and
wall outlet.
Check for power at the wall outlet using
a known good appliance.
Check the thumbscrews on the print
module access panel.
Check the printer for a blown fuse.
Normal if printer is online.
Offline: Printer may be locked up. Try to
print a status sheet as future reference
for printer settings.
Recycle the power to the printer and
initialize the printer.
Invalid configuration may be causing
printer to lock up. Turn power off for 15
seconds, and then back on. If problem
persists, initialize the printer.
Check interface cable connections.
Selected speed (baud rate) may not be
compatible with host. Reset serial
interface data rate.
Parity selected may not be compatible
with host. Reset serial interface parity
type.
Interface settings may not be compatible
with host. Recheck settings and
compare to host protocol settings.
