Use this command to delete a file from the system.
Syntax
DELETE [ disk-id ] file-mask [, file-mask ,..., file-mask ]
Parameters
Table 9-8 shows the syntax parameters of the DELETE command.

disk-id
file-mask
To delete a file from the system, the user must have an appropriate
level of access. Refer to the "Setting file access and task executing
privileges" section in chapter 1 for further information. Masking can
be used with this application.
Example
DELETE UNIVAC.JSL,FORMX.FSL
UNIVAC.JSL DELETED
FORMX.FSL DELETED
Caution: System (SYS) files should never be deleted.
FLOPPY RESTORE command parameters and
descriptions
Description
Prompts you to confirm or stop overwriting a system file by
a floppy file. If you enter N, the file is not copied to system
disk, and the restore process skips to the next file on the
floppy disk.
The system disk unit to which the file is copied.
The identity of the input and output files.
Saves all user files on the floppy disk to the system disk.
Parameters of the DELETE command
Description
Specifies the system disk (DP0:, DP1:, DP2:, or
DP3:) which contains the file to be deleted.
Specifies a file or set of files as file-name.file-type .
