LI - Input Parameters
Open Loop Easy Direction is available for open loop induction applications.
The user will be required to set LC01 Control Mode to Open Loop Vector (1)
and to set LI50 UPS Mode to Easy Direction (1). While in UPS mode when
the run is commanded, the drive will briefly turn the motor in both directions
while monitoring the torque current. Whichever direction that the torque current
value is negative, the drive will run the motor in that direction. The LT30 OLED
Run Time parameter can be used to adjust how long the drive samples the
torque current in each direction. The LT31 OLED Constant Speed Delay can
adjust how long the drive waits before starting to sample the torque current;
this is to allow the motor to get up to constant speed for a consistent sample.
When LT31 expires, the drive will begin to monitor the torque current for the
length of time that is programmed in LT30. When LT30 expires, the drive will
run the motor at the programmed LS10 Battery Operation Speed. See section
6.9 LT Timers for further details.
Easy Direction is not available if the drive is programmed for Bi-Polar Analog
speed control.
If using CAN speed control, LI50 must be set to Easy Direction (1).
If using Absolute Analog Speed Control (2), it may be necessary to adjust LA01
Analog Input 1 Filter and LA04 Analog Input 1 Dead Band to suppress any
voltage fluctuations on the analog input signal. Voltage fluctuations caused by
inductive and capacitive coupling on the analog signal, can cause the motor
to "tremble" while the Easy Direction torque measurements are being made.
This could result in the motor not running in the correct direction. See section
6.13 for further information.
During regular operation (not UPS mode), if both direction inputs are signaled
simultaneously, a 'Direction Selection Failure' fault will occur.
