Note: Two inputs cannot be assigned the same function, except Brake
i
Release Confirmation.
Brake Release Confirmation
When an input is programmed for Brake Release Confirmation (18), the
drive checks to see if the brake opens or closes within a set amount of time,
otherwise a Brake Switch Failure fault will occur.
The timers are defined as:
Starting:
t = LT01 + LT03 + 2.5
= Brake Release Delay + Speed Start Delay + 2.5s
Default = 0.05s + 0.70s + 2.5s = 3.25s
Stopping:
t = LT10 + LT12
= Brake Drop Delay + Current Hold Time
Default = 0.10s + 0.50s = 0.60s
Two inputs can be programmed for the brake switch. During stop, the switches
should be closed and open during run. If the brake switch is open during Mode
= Idle, then the Brake Switch Failure fault will also occur. If during the run, the
brake switch closes, the Brake Switch Failure fault will not occur.
Refer to section 12.3 for function testing of the Brake Release Confirmation
feature.
