Using Commands in the IRL Desktop

In addition to choosing a command from the desktop, you can also scan a bar
code label or download the command from the host computer. You must be in
the IRL Desktop to execute the commands listed in the following pages.

Starting an IRL Program

To run an IRL program from the IRL Desktop, do one of the following:
The program begins at the first program statement. The IRL Desktop executes
the default file named {IRL-1}.IRL when you scan the Run bar code or enter the
Run command from the host computer.
Note: If you need more memory to run your IRL program, you can execute an IRL
program without the IRL Desktop using IRLXDESK.EXE. To use IRLXDESK, you
need to load it on one of the JANUS 2050 drives from companion disk 3. Once it is
loaded on the JANUS 2050, enter the following command to begin executing your IRL
program:
irlxdesk filename
When you execute IRLXDESK, none of the protocol handlers are automatically loaded.

Choose the Run command from the File menu. The Run dialog box
displays a list of program files in the current directory. Use the h j keys
to highlight the program you want to run and
press e .
End an IRL program download with the RUN command (//) from the host
computer.
Enter the RUN command from the host computer, or scan the bar code
label.
From the host computer, enter the command:
