12 Troubleshooting
Occurrence
Motor rotates in a
reverse direction.
Noises of motor
and machines are
noisy.
Output frequency
becomes unstable.
Torque is not gen-
erated.
LCD operator dis-
connection error is
issued.
12 - 38
Estimated cause(s)
The wires connected to the motor
are in wrong phase sequence.
When the RUN key on the LCD
Operator is used, the rotation
direction setting is wrong.
When the 3-wire function is used,
the input of input terminal function
F/R is reversed.
Carrier frequency is set low.
The revolution frequency of motor
and the natural frequency of
machines resonate.
Inadequate parameters are used.
Load fluctuates significantly.
PS voltage fluctuates.
V/f control is used.
The inverter is used for lowering.
The load is too heavy.
Operation selection at disconnec-
tion of operator is inappropriate.
Exemplar measures to be taken
Swapping two phases of wires connected to the motor
changes the direction of rotation.
[AA-12] RUN key direction needs to be switched.
Check the logic of 3-wire normal rotation / reverse rota-
tion terminal (018[F/R]).
Raise the carrier frequency setting [bb101]. However,
this may increase noise generated in the inverter and
leakage currents from the inverter. In addition, derating
is required to the output current depending on the mod-
els.
Change the set frequency. If a resonance occurs during
acceleration/deceleration, avoid the resonance fre-
quency in settings of the frequency jump functions
[AG101] to [AG106].
Find out the basic parameter settings for motor and set
them accordingly.
Re-examination of capacity of both motor and inverter
may be required.
Use of the optional reactor ALI or DCL, or a noise filter
on the input side to minimize the power fluctuation may
improve the situation.
Use torque boost, sensorless vector control, or other
control instead.
Use a braking resistor or regenerative braking unit if
the torque is not sufficient for regenerative operation.
Re-examination of capacity of both motor and inverter
may be required.
Set the operation selection at disconnection of operator
to 02 (Ignore).
