Common Commands

Command summary

Common commands (summarized in Table 15-1) are device commands that are common to
all devices on the bus. These commands are designated and defined by the IEEE-488.2 stan-
dard. Most of these commands are described in detail in this section.

Description
Clears all event registers and Error Queue.
Program the Standard Event Enable Register.
Read the Standard Event Enable Register.
Read and clear the Standard Event Enable Register.
Returns the manufacturer, model number, serial num-
ber, and firmware revision levels of the unit.
Set the Operation Complete bit in the Standard Event
Register after all pending commands have been
executed.
Places an ASCII "1" into the Output Queue when all
pending selected device operations have been com-
pleted.
Returns the SourceMeter to the user-saved setup.
Returns the SourceMeter to the *RST default
conditions.
Saves the present setup as the user-saved setup.
Programs the Service Request Enable Register.
Reads the Service Request Enable Register.
Reads the Status Byte Register.
Sends a bus trigger to the SourceMeter.
Performs a checksum test on ROM and returns the
result.
Wait until all previous commands are executed.
