WATER PUMP
The water pump
cover and O-ring
can be removed
with engine in the
frame.
MECHANICAL SEAL INSPECTION
Inspect the telltale hole for signs of coolant leakage.
If there is leakage, the mechanical seal is defective
and the water pump assembly must be replaced.
REMOVAL
Remove the engine from the frame (Section 7).
Loosen the band screw and remove the water hose
from the water pump cover.
Remove the water pump cover mounting bolts.
Remove the water pump cover and a-ring from the
water pump.
COOLING SYSTEM
Loosen the band screw and remove the water hose
from the water pump.
