ELECTRIC STARTER
Check for continuity between pairs of commutator
bars.
There should be continuity.
Replace the armature with a new one if necessary.
Check for continuity between each individual
commutator bar and the armature shaft.
There should be no continuity.
Replace the armature with a new one if necessary.
ARMATURE SHAFT
Remove the lock washer from the front cover.
Check the dust seal and needle bearing for wear or
damage.
Check the needle bearing rotates smoothly.
Apply grease to the seal lips and needle bearing.
Install the lock washer to the front cover.
