ALTERNATOR/STARTER CLUTCH
Remove the stator grommets from the left crankcase
cover.

Remove the socket bolts and stator from the left
crankcase cover.
FLYWHEEL, STARTER CLUTCH
FLYWHEEL REMOVAL
Remove the left crankcase cover (page 9-2).
Remove the starter idle gear and shaft.
Remove the starter reduction gear and shaft.
SHAFTS
IDLE GEAR
CAUTION:
The flywheel bolt has left hand threads.
Remove the flywheel bolt and washer while holding
the flywheel with a flywheel holder.
