The speedometer and odometer/trip meter does not operate
• Check for the following before diagnosing.
- blown main fuse (30A) or sub-fuse (10A).
- loose or corroded terminals of the connectors.
- discharged battery.
LIGHTS/METERS/SWITCHES
Remove the speed sensor and checkfor damage
of the speed sensor (page 19-13).

Remove the speedometer cover (page 19-12).
Check for loose or poor contact of the
speedometer terminals.
Turn the ignition switch ON and measure the
voltage at the terminals while the speed sensor
is turned by a screwdriver.
Damage
Abnormal
• Faulty speed sensor.
Remove the headlight (page 19-7).
Disconnect the speed sensor 3P (White)
connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON and check the wire
harness (page 19-14).
Connection: Black/Brown
(+) -
ground (-)
Standared : Battery voltage
Connection: Green/Black
(+) -
ground (-)
Standard: Continuity
Connection: Black/Yellow
(+) -
Green/Black (-)
Standard: Repeat OV to 5V

• Open circuit in Green/Black
wire
Check for continuity of the Pink wire between
the speedometer terminal and speed sensor 3P
(White) connector.

speedometer 9P (Black)
