System Boot Options on 7210 SAS-M and 7210 SAS-X devices

The 7210 SAS-M and 7210 SAS-X supports booting the system using any of the following
options:
NOTE: The 7210 SAS-M and 7210 SAS-X can use a both.tim (that is, Timos image) present on
the USB storage stick for booting up. It cannot use boot.tim present on the USB storage stick for
booting up, though.
The platform Installation Guide provides examples on how to boot the system using any of the
above options. For more information, see the Installation Guides.

System Boot Options on 7210 SAS-T and 7210 SAS-R6 devices

The 7210 SAS-T and 7210 SAS-R6 supports booting of the system using any of the following
options:
As multiple storage locations are available for boot loader (boot.tim), 7210 SAS-T and 7210 SAS-
R6 no longer supports golden bootloader.
During bootup the system attempts to boot from the first successful option out of the three options
available in the BOF (they are, primary, secondary, and tertiary location).
During power on, the bootrom searches the following locations in the order given below for the
boot.tim image:

Network (with auto-init)
Network (without auto-init)
Internal flash (cf1:\)
External flash (cf2:\)
External USB flash (uf1:\) and
Network (without auto-init)
Network (with auto-init) - supported on 7210 SAS-T/M/X but not supported on 7210
SAS-R6
