Signaling Mode
This field selects the signaling method used for the DS1 link. This mode must match the method
used on the other end of the link, so work with your network services provider to determine the
appropriate entry for this field.

Use this field to enter the number of seconds the system waits for a response from the far end
before invoking Look Ahead Routing. Appears when the Group Type field is isdn-pri.

Usage
Enter CAS for out-of band signaling with E-1 service. This setting yields
30 64-kbps B-channels for voice or data transmission. Channel 0 is used
for framing while channel 16 carries signaling.
Enter robbed-bit for in-band signaling with T-1 service. This setting
yields 24 56-kbps B-channels for voice transmission.
Enter isdn-pri for either T-1 or E-1 ISDN service. This setting supports
both Facility Associated Signaling and Non-Facility Associated Signaling.
Enter isdn-ext for either T-1 or E-1 ISDN service. This setting supports
only Non-Facility Associated Signaling.
Enter common-chan, for out-of-band signaling with T-1 service. This
setting yields 23 64-kbps B-channels for voice or data transmission.
Channel 24 is used for signaling.
Usage
Enter a if the Interface field is peer-master (this server overrides the
far-end when glare occurs).
