CCESS ONFIGURATION
The initiator of asynchronous RTC terminal access is an RTC client connected to
the monitoring device. The receiver of asynchronous RTC terminal access is the
RTC server connected to the monitored device. An RTC client can initiate a
connection request to the RTC server at any time to access the data.
Follow these steps to perform basic RTC initiator (RTC client) configuration:

Enter system view
Enable terminal access on
the router
Create a terminal template
and enter terminal
template view
Create a RTC client VTY
Return to system view
Enter interface view
Configure the
asynchronous serial
interface to operate in the
flow mode
Apply the template to the
interface
Return to system view
Enter TTY user interface
view
Enable software flow
control of data on the
current user interface
