Assumed cause
The SATA cable is
deformed or broken.
The DPCIS is not properly
connected to the DPSHD
PWB.
The DPSHD PWB is faulty. Replace the DPSHD PWB.
The DPCIS is faulty.
The DP relay PWB is
faulty.
The main PWB is faulty.
Assumed cause
The starting position for
scanning an original on the
DP is incorrect.
The slit glass is dirty.
The slit glass is not prop-
erly attached.
The density is not properly
adjusted. (The original
type and image quality dif-
fers.)
The density is not properly
adjusted. ([EcoPrint] is set
to "On".)
The density is not properly
adjusted. (The density set-
ting is too light.)
The density is not properly
adjusted. ([Background
density] is set to "Off".)

Measures
Replace the SATA cable
between the DPSHD PWB
and the DP relay PWB.
Reconnect the DPCIS to the
DPSHD PWB.
Replace the DPCIS, and then
execute U091 and U411.
Replace the DP relay PWB.
Replace the main PWB.
Measures
Adjust U068 [DP Read].
Clean the slit glass and the
DP conveying guide.
Reattach the slit glass.
Set the image quality accord-
ing to the originals.
Change to [Off] at [System
Menu/Counter] > [Common
Setting] > [Function Defaults]
> [EcoPrint].
Set the density setting to be
dark.
Set [Manual] in the Back-
ground Density Adjustment to
make dark.
