The MP feed sensor does not turn off during paper feed from the MP tray.

Assumed cause
The cut-end of the paper is
crushed.
The paper leading edge is
bent.
foreign objects are on the
paper.
Paper gets curled or
waved.
The paper fanning is not
enough.
The actuator does not
operate properly.
The MP feed clutch always
turns on.
The MP feed sensor does
not properly operate.
The connector is not prop-
erly connected or the wire
is faulty.

Measures
Fan the paper well and load it
by reversing the paper direc-
tion
Remove the bent paper.
Remove the paper with for-
eign objects.
Fix or replace paper. If it is
difficult to replace, relocate
the leading edge with the
trailing edge of the paper to
feed or turn over the paper,
and reinstall it.
Clean or replace the feed pul-
ley and the retard pulley.
The actuator or the spring is
deformed, or if not properly
operate, replace it.
Execute U032 [MPT Feed]. If
the MP feed clutch does not
properly operate, reattach it
and reinsert the connector. If
not repaired, replace it.
Turn the MP feed sensor on
and off manually and check
the indication at U031 [MPT
Jam]. If the MP feed sensor
does not properly operate,
clean and reattach it and rein-
sert the connector. If not
repaired, replace it.
Clean the terminal of the fol-
lowing wire connectors and
reinsert the connectors.
Replace the wire when it has
no continuity.• MP feed sen-
