Assumed cause
The location of the original
width guides and the origi-
nal size are mismatched.
The original is hooked with
the DP conveying guide.
The paper conveying per-
formance of the DP con-
veying roller is insufficient.
The DP top cover is
deformed.
The leading edge of the
original is folded.
The original gets curled
downward or waved.
The original out of specifi-
cation is used.
Foreign objects adhere on
the original.
The DP timing sensor does
not properly operate.
The DP conveying motor
does not properly operate.

Measures
Align the original width
guides to the original size.
Reattach the DP conveying
guide. If there is a burr on the
paper conveying face of the
guide, remove it. If not
repaired, replace it.
Clean the DP conveying
roller surface. If worn down,
replace it.
Check if the DP top cover is
securely closed. If it cannot
be closed due to the defor-
mation, replace it.
Remove the folded original.
Fix or replace paper. If it is
difficult to replace, relocate
the leading edge with the
trailing edge of the paper to
feed or turn over the paper,
and reinstall it.
Explain users to use the origi-
nal within the specifications.
Remove the foreign objects
on the original. If it is not pos-
sible to remove the foreign
objects completely, remove
the original.
Turn the DP timing sensor on
and off manually and check
the indication at U244 [Tim-
ing]. If the DP timing sensor
does not properly operate,
clean and reattach it and rein-
sert the connector. If not
repaired, replace it.
Execute U243 [Conv Motor].
If the DP conveying motor
does not properly operate,
reattach it and reinsert the
connector. If not repaired,
replace it.
