21.4 Solution
• The below describes the OpenAPI certification related trouble messages displayed on
the control panel of the machine and actions, dividing them by possible situation.
A. When using an application
No.
Symptom and message

When starting an application, the follow-
ing message is displayed: Application
has expired. Failed to start the regis-
tered application.
When starting the machine, the follow-
ing message is displayed: The
Enhanced Server Authentication appli-
cation has expired. Change the User
Authentication method to one other than
Enhanced Server Authentication.

When starting an application, the follow-
ing message is displayed: Failed to start
the registered application. Please con-
tact your service representative.
When starting the machine, the follow-
ing message is displayed: The
enhanced server authentication applica-
tion cannot be used. Please contact
your service representative.

In the screen saver application, after a
time set, the screen saver does not
work.
B. After rewriting the firmware of the machine

message is displayed: Failed to start the reg-
istered application. Please contact your ser-
vice representative.
When starting the machine, the following
message is displayed: The enhanced server
authentication application cannot be used.

21. Open API Related Trouble
Action
1. In [Administrator Settings] → [System Settings] →
[Date/Time Settings], check that the date and time
that is set is same as the actual date and time. If a
wrong date and time is set, correct it.
2. Contact the application vendor and obtain a new
Solution Key (or the application software itself).
Using it, perform the steps below.
1) Delete the application.
2) Using the Solution Key (or the application soft-
ware itself), register the application again.
• In [System1] → [Marketing Area], change the market-
ing area of the machine to the one that was selected
when the application was registered.

[Date/Time Settings], check that the date and time
that is set is same as the actual date and time. If a

2. Contact the application vendor and obtain a new

ware itself), register the application again.

keting area of the machine to the one that was
selected when the application was registered.
• After deleting the application in question, regis-
ter the application again.
